Yesterday I sent out one email with a special offer for people doing the Sept 2020 or March 2021 GAMSAT.

Within 2 hours of me hitting the send button, all the positions were gone.

And there is now a waiting list.

Lesson for my young GAMSAT grass-hoppers:

High marks on the GAMSAT favour fast action takers. (In the action exam as well as in the lead up to it)

Reminds me of when we used to get assignments in high school back in the stone age when you had to get your resources from the library.

Anyone remember that?

Anyway,

The teacher would explain the assignment when was due and other details we ignored because we were waiting for one thing…the compulsory reading list.

There were only ever 1-2 of those books from the list in the bloody library at school but about 20 high-level students who wanted top marks and needed those books more than a 16-year-old needs Tik-Tok every 15 seconds.

The moment us nerds (who mostly ended up being doctors or lawyers) saw that reading list we were all thinking the same thing…

How quickly can I get to the damn library and borrow that one book so I get high marks and the others are behind?

Or maybe that was just me.

Then the race was on.

Taught me to be fast.

There were always a handful of schlep-rocks who cruised into the library later on thinking it would be ok while the rest of us keen-beans were already walking out after negotiating custody and copying right of our precious bounty.

These days most of the resources are electronic so there isn’t a limit on them until there is.

In some cases that are still limits.

Such as yesterday’s over-subscribed offer. Getting that help requires a conversation with one of my team whose time is extremely limited and valuable.

Only a handful of those positions were available and they all went to the fast action takers.

Same goes for spots on my free live online training sessions.

There are only 100 people allowed onto the Zoom call (at our current level of subscription). I take one of those positions as the presenter, so that leaves 99.

Problem is, we’re pretty much always overbooked so yet again the schlep-rocks miss out.

So here is your advanced warning.

The people who missed out yesterday are welcome to come along to this as is anyone who is serious about getting a high score (even those doing the GAMSAT for the first time).
