When Should I Begin My GAMSAT Preparation?

I get asked this question all the time, no matter what time of year it is.

There are always people who are going to feel like they don’t have enough time, even it’s a year or more until they sit the GAMSAT.

On the other hand, there are people who have 4 weeks and think they have enough time to prepare.

So, the idea of time is a very subjective to many people.

Now, there is a very good Buddhist saying “The best time to plant a tree, was 20 years ago, so that now you can be resting under its shade and relaxing. But the second best time is NOW

So, you probably should have started your study a couple of months ago, to start progressively and get into the habit and routine of study as well as giving yourself the time to learn the skills and the second best time is today.

However, the key lesson here is not the date, time or length of your study preparation, it’s what you do with that time that really counts.

I’m sure you’ve met people, who have sat the GAMSAT several times, many months and many years of study but the time spent studying isn’t been reflected in the outcome.

Many people will turn to forums, friends, posts to get all the tips on what to study, but if you aren’t spending the time on developing and learning the skills, then it’s time wasted.

So, the takeaway from today’s article is that – time is subjective. You could spend 20- 30 hours a week studying, but if you aren’t studying in the way that is revelant for you to develp the skills, then the time concept goes out the door.
