‘Procrastastudying’ is a biatch.

Boring old history books were never as interesting as when I was studying for the GAMSAT.
I’d sit in the local library for days on end right across from the history section.
Looking over at them, I almost couldn’t help myself but want to read them.
They were the MOST interesting books I’d ever seen.
There were even moments I’d wonder why I didn’t become a historian.
I kid you not.
I’d have to tear myself away and promise to come back to them after GAMSAT was done.
Problem is,
After GAMSAT those books weren’t as interesting….
In fact,
They were so fugking boring things I’d ever seen and…
I started to wonder if I was delirious during my GAMSAT prep..
My amazing wife and PassGAMSAT Director, Mare, came up with a new term for this…
Actually,
Just looked it up in the Urban Dictionary and it turns out she did not, in fact, make it up. (I’ll be having a chat with her about that later).
Apparently it already has a definition.
“Procrastastudying: The pursuit of pointless facts in order to avoid learning more boring but relevant information.”
But I don’t like that definition.
Pointless facts?
Or rather, seemingly more enjoyable facts?
Because if you’re a uni student and you’re doing end of semester/year exams and assignments but instead you’re looking up GAMSAT stuff…
Then in your case I’d change that too:
GAMSAT Procrastastudying: The pursuit of GAMSAT preparation information to avoid studying for uni.
Hahaha
Look,
Obviously GAMSAT is important. As is getting ready for it, even though I’m biased.
However,
At this time of the year, your uni assignments, exams etc are far more important.
You can resit GAMSAT to increase your score.
Increasing your GPA is far more difficult if you fudge it up.
So the best course of action for you right now, if you’re a uni student doing your end of year work, is to read these emails (obviously) and dream about GAMSAT and being a doctor, but spend your time and energy on uni.
Let’s get that GPA as high as possible.
Once uni is over, or the end is in sight, we can chat about how to best prepare for the GAMSAT.
We have some incredible things we’re cooking in the background for you.
So never fear,
You’ll be able to make fast progress with your GAMSAT prep once uni is over.
(Unless you want to have the bandwidth for it or you’ve already completed uni. In which case do this.)
But seriously,
It’s ok to not do GAMST study right now if you’re a uni student doing your end of year work.
For everyone else, this will help you be effective in your preparation.
It’s a complimentary tutoring session with our team about how to start your prep, how to improve it if you’ve already done it before, and the best way for you to study for the GAMSAT.
Cheers,
Dr “GAMSAT Procrastastudy” Tom
