How to ‘force’ yourself to think differently in the Science Section

I’ve gotta take a moment to reflect.
Because one of my goals…dreams, if you will… for PassGAMSAT is to create an experience for our students that’s so pivotal in their lives, has such a profound impact, and is so helpful that they …
Remember it for many many years to come.
(An announcement that’s coming in early December will take this to the next level)
And hopefully, it changes everything for them.
It sets them on a life course that they may not otherwise be on.
And then maybe, just maybe, they will be so touched that they come back year after year to share their experiences, add to the BC community and be somewhat of a mentor to our members.
And it’s happening more and more. 😁
Last week, when GEMSAS results came out one of my Bootcampers puts this message into our group chat:
So what’s the big deal?
Just another Bootcamper getting into medical school, right?
=> Learn what the science section is REALLY about so that you too can get an offer next year.
Well, not quite.
The big deal is that this bloke went from an overall score in the 50s on his first GAMSAT attempt …
The 50s!
Applied what we call…
The “Dissection” Process …
(As well as some serious elbow grease, a lot of thought, and other study – but the Dissection process is a technique I invented which changes the way you think about science content allowing you to simultaneously learn the science content while developing reasoning skills, meaning, non-science background people and science students alike can make fast progress in their study and actually apply what they learn to GAMSAT questions – hence it’s a big part of what we do)
And ended up with a score in the 70s.
In fact,
He increased his score in the science section by 19 points …
Using this very powerful technique.
And it gets better:
So Hayden used our GAMSAT Bootcamp to increase his score, and our Interview Bootcamp for his interview prep and put the above post in our group when he got an offer last week.
Then sends me this direct message:
Muahahaha!
My ‘evil’ plan is coming together.
He reached out to contribute to the Bootcamp because it helped him so much.😭
So proud right now.
(Curious about that project I have for him? Ready me next email)
And he’s not the only one.
We’ve had a number of Bootcampers become tutors and/or stay in the community to support and encourage others.
Like Elizabeth:
Sometimes I prompt them to do this.
But usually they just do it on their own.
It’s a beautiful group. 💗
Anyway,
You can find out what else Hayden did to increase his S3 score by 19 points here.
I’ll use him as a case study and explain what he learnt, how, and even apply it to some practice questions so you can potentially do the same.
I won’t give away the dissection process …
You’ll need to join the Bootcamp for that (I’ll show you how to do that here as well) but this is the next best thing.
Cheers,
