THE EMAIL OF DEATH…AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Interview offers are out and congratulations to those who were successful in getting an interview for this year.

For those who got the email of death (EOD) last Thursday, please make sure that you’ve taken some time over the last few days to feel all of the feels.

Today’s article is aimed at those who got the EOD and are unsure of what happens next.

Firstly, take some time out for yourself to feel all of the emotions before making any decisions. Talk, cry with friends, family, your dog, anything or anyone that you feel comfortable around to express yourself. If you want to feel all of the feels alone in your bedroom, then that’s OK too (just make sure you come out for some fresh air once in a while).

Secondly, once all of those feelings and emotions are out of your system or now at a reasonable level, reflect back on the journey that you’ve just had this past year(s). Taking lessons away from everything that happens to you, is the journey to moving forward and will help aid you in your next steps.

Thirdly, start to think about your next steps and what you really want to do. Sit another GAMSAT? Do another uni course? Give up on medicine all together? Whatever the decision may be, we can help you with those next steps and how to make the best decision for your specific situation.
