Are you ready to serve or be a slave?

Some people get really weird about the idea of serving others.
They think they are above it…
Or that doctors are above serving.
After all, they are important Dok-Tores. They don’t serve others. They are served.
Trouble is, anyone who’s anyone is here to serve others.
The Prime Minister serves the public.
A CEO serves her customers.
A Surgeon or Doctor serves their patients and the public.
I serve you and to a much bigger extent, my Bootcampers.
Anyone who’s enjoying life will tell you that the secret is to serve others and a cause bigger than yourself.
It gives you a sense of purpose and impact that goes far beyond pretty much anything else.
So what’s the big problem with serving others then?
Well, what you need to understand is that there’s a big difference between serving and being servile.
Those who are uncomfortable with the idea of serving confuse the two.
A quick Google search will show you that servile means “having or showing an excessive willingness to serve or please others” or “of or characteristic of a slave or slaves”.
Which sucks.
It’s kind of pathetic too – it feels weird.
No one wants to do that.
I don’t.
And I won’t.
That’s why we say ‘no’ to a lot of people who apply for our Bootcamp.
It’s why we remove and blacklist people from our database who are rude, disrespectful or unengaged in our stuff.
And if you’ve read any of my stuff then you’ll already know it from the vibe of how we do things.
But this just articulares it for you and I.
We are here to serve but not to be servile.
Same as doctors and surgeons – they are here to serve but not be servile.
And if they’re not here to serve, then why are they even here – to look good on Instagram?
You need to be ready to serve and be happy to do it.
It’s what makes a good doctor.
It’s what will push you through all the challenges along the way.
If that’s you then check this out.
